When an order is placed on our web site, credit/debit card details are encrypted on the using 128 bit encryption. We do not store any payment card details on computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site. Val-U-Computers now complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). PCI DSS is a set of 12 requirements designed to secure and protect customer payment data which include: - building and maintaining a secure network - protecting cardholder data - implement strong access control measuresVal-U-Computer's environmental policy Val-U-Computers recycles everything it can to avoid unnecessary waste: - If possible, laptop external parts are resprayed rather than disposed of. - Where practicable, all cardboard boxes and packaging material received is reused for orders - Any cardboard which cannot be reused is recycled - Paper is reused and then shredded for packaging material - We try our utmost to repair every faulty laptop and if we can't repair it reuse or sell the majority of parts - We test "dead" batteries 2 or 3 times before disposing of them safely - Pallets are recycled - We reuse packaging material from other businesses. WEEE "Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment" What is WEEE? - The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (2006 No. 3289) (WEEE) is a new UK legislation designed to address the environmental impact of waste electrical and electronic equipment - These regulations have been put in place to ensure that products are recycled using best available treatment, recovery and recycling techniques to ensure human health and high environmental protection - Both Val-U-Computers and our customers can assist in recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment - Our customers have an important role to play in helping us to recycle as we cannot recycle it unless you return it - Val-U-Computers will undertake their responsibility as both a Producer and a Distributor to dispose of these goods in line with European legislation - Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled How do I know if my product is covered? Click here for weee logo - If the symbol shown here is found on any of your goods, it means that the product is covered by the WEEE Regulations - Please click here (PDF 68kb) for more details of products that are included in the WEEE Directive How do I recycle my old products? - It means that you can return waste electrical equipment to Val-U-Computers when you are purchasing a new product from us under our distributer obligations* - When you have finished with a WEEE product, please do not put in your domestic waste bin, as it will not be recycled - Please contact us at weeerecycling@valucomputers.co.uk to arrange for a recycling address label to be posted to you. You will not have to pay the delivery cost to us. Customers must return their like-for-like WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item. - Please quote your Val-U-Computers/cheaplaptopparts product order number and describe the item that is to be recycled - Please carefully package any item to be returned to avoid transit damage - We will then deal with the waste product in an environmentally responsible manner, at no cost to you *It has to be like for like (e.g. a power adaptor for a power adaptor).Waste Battery takeback As a distributor of batteries Val-U-Computers complies with the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations.
Under the Waste Battery Regulations, we are now offering a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries. You can return your waste batteries to our trading address in Norwich in person (please do not post). Alternatively, you can find your local waste portable battery recyling facility atwww.recyclenow.com
Most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may also set up collection points.
End-users may find stores in their local area more accessible.
Val-U-Computers is committed to providing it's customers with the highest quality products. However there may be rare occasions where the product may be identified as being faulty, defective or not compatible with the original request and on these exceptional occasions, and in line with our commitment to quality, our customer returns procedure has been implemented.
Conditions:
All products sold are on a Return To Base (RTB) basis unless otherwise agreed in writing before completion of sales transaction.
Products may only be returned once in receipt of our prior written or verbal consent. This is regardless of whether the product is faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied.
Product returned without permission may be refused.
All permissions to return products will be authorised by the issuing of a Customer Returns Number (CRN). This number is to be clearly identified on the outside of the returned item(s) and is to be referenced to in all communications.
Customer Returns Numbers are valid for FOURTEEN days after issue date. Any item(s) returned after this date may be refused as invalid claims.
Val-U-Computers reserve the right to levy charges for restocking and / or handling and / or administration and / or shipping where the returned item is deemed by Val-U-Computers to be correctly supplied and free from defect.
