Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalog, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Checkout Now" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

Payment Details

We accept the following forms of payment:

- Visa and Mastercard credit cards
- Mastercard DEBIT, Visa Delta, Maestro and Electron debit cards (no surcharge)
- Personal and business cheques (please allow 10 working days clearance)
- Building Society cheques, bankers draft (require no clearance)
- Payment direct into our Co-operative bank account (details on request). Some BACS payments may
reach our account same day but will normally take 3 working days.

We would require advance notice of payments by cheque or payments into our bank so we can reserve stock and watch for payment.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT AMERICAN EXPRESS, WESTERN UNION OR ANY CARD REGISTERED OUTSIDE THE UK (APART FROM IRELAND, FRANCE AND SPAIN OR IF PRE-AGREED WITH SALES).

We conduct extensive fraud protection measures to protect both the genuine cardholder and us against loss and inconvenience.

Credit and debit card payments are not taken automatically on placing order. All the order does is securely capture the details and the card will be processed by our staff.

If you have made a mistake in your order and cannot correct it in the shopping cart, contact us and we will correct the mistake. If we receive two consecutive orders for the same item from the same customer we will assume it was a mistake and will only take payment for one order.

When confirmation of your order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Shipping And Handling

UK- All our products are despatched via DPD courier or Post Office with insurance cover for any unlikely damage or loss. The courier will deliver next day after despatch Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm (except NI and some remote parts of the UK which is normally a 48 hour delivery). You will receive an email giving you a 1 hour delivery slot on the morning of delivery.

The standard carriage cost added to the order in the shopping cart is for delivery to most parts of the UK. Some areas of the UK and Northern Ireland either incur more carriage cost or cannot be guaranteed next day delivery. We will advise you when this is the case.

Republic of Ireland/France/Spain - Delivery varies from 2 to 5 working days from despatch . You will have to use a credit/debit card registered to the delivery address or make payment direct into our bank account.

WEEE "Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment"

What is WEEE?

- The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (2006 No. 3289) (WEEE) is a new UK legislation designed to address the environmental impact of waste electrical and electronic equipment
- These regulations have been put in place to ensure that products are recycled using best available treatment, recovery and recycling techniques to ensure human health and high environmental protection
- Both Val-U-Computers and our customers can assist in recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment
- Our customers have an important role to play in helping us to recycle as we cannot recycle it unless you return it
- Val-U-Computers will undertake their responsibility as both a Producer and a Distributor to dispose of these goods in line with European legislation
- Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled

How do I know if my product is covered?

- If the symbol shown here is found on any of your goods, it means that the product is covered by the WEEE Regulations
- Please click here (PDF 68kb) for more details of products that are included in the WEEE Directive

How do I recycle my old products?
- It means that you can return waste electrical equipment to Val-U-Computers when you are purchasing a new product from us under our distributer obligations*
- When you have finished with a WEEE product, please do not put in your domestic waste bin, as it will not be recycled
- Please contact us at weeerecycling@valucomputers.co.uk to arrange for a recycling address label to be posted to you. You will not have to pay the delivery cost to us. Customers must return their like-for-like WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.
- Please quote your Val-U-Computers/cheaplaptopparts product order number and describe the item that is to be recycled
- Please carefully package any item to be returned to avoid transit damage
- We will then deal with the waste product in an environmentally responsible manner, at no cost to you

*It has to be like for like (e.g. a power adaptor for a power adaptor).

Returns Policy

Val-U-Computers is committed to providing it's customers with the highest quality products. However there may be rare occasions where the product may be identified as being faulty, defective or not compatible with the original request and on these exceptional occasions, and in line with our commitment to quality, our customer returns procedure has been implemented.

Conditions:

  • All products sold are on a Return To Base (RTB) basis unless otherwise agreed in writing before completion of sales transaction.

  • Products may only be  returned once in receipt of our prior written or verbal consent. This is regardless of whether the product is faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied.

  • Product returned without permission may be refused.

  • All permissions to return products will be authorised by the issuing of a Customer Returns Number (CRN). This number is to be clearly identified on the outside of the returned item(s) and is to be referenced to in all communications.

  • Customer Returns Numbers are valid for FOURTEEN days after issue date. Any item(s) returned after this date may be refused as invalid claims.

  • Val-U-Computers reserve the right to levy charges for restocking and / or handling and / or administration and / or shipping where the returned item is deemed by Val-U-Computers to be correctly supplied and free from defect.

Procedure:

Faulty Products

If you would like to return a product because it is faulty please contact our support line on 01603 721982 to speak to an engineer first to establish whether the product needs to be returned. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm (excl. bank holidays).

Once you have confirmation from an engineer that the laptop is faulty please send an email to returns@valucomputers.co.uk with your name, address, order number or invoice number and problem.

Refund required under 14 day money back warranty

Please send an email to returns@valucomputers.co.uk with your name, address, order number or invoice number and reason for return.

- We will either contact you to discuss the return request further or send you an email with a Customer Returns Number, which should be put on the box containing the product being returned.

- It is typical for us to request you to return the product(s) at your cost, however, at our discretion we may arrange collection. Normally we will collect laptops which are faulty within the first 14 days of arrival.

- In ALL incidences it is important to clearly identify the Customer Return Number (CRN) on the returned product(s) documentation. Please note that this must NOT be written onto the packaging in a way that will permanently cause degradation to that packaging. Product(s) shall be returned in the packaging in which they were originally delivered, complete with any accessories, licenses, manuals etc. If it cannot be returned in the original packaging you are responsible for ensuring that the product is properly secured and packaged. The product should be fully surrounded by bubble wrap, polystyrene, foam or other packaging material and put in a sturdy, double walled box. Packing laptops in just a jiffy bag, laptop bag or putting any item in a box that is not properly padded or too loosely packed is insufficient.

- Unless we arrange collection you are responsible for insuring the returned product against loss or damage. We recommend using a courier such as Interlink Express or Special Delivery (Post Office). We can arrange collection if you wish, at a cost of £19 inc VAT.

- Replacement product(s) will only be issued, in advance of the return of the original product(s), at the discretion of the Sales Manager.

- Providing you comply with this procedure in full we will process your return through our internal system with the minimum of delay. We will advise you at the appropriate stage as to the status / resolution of the returned item.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS PROCEDURE WILL RESULT IN DELAYS AND POSSIBLE REJECTION OF CLAIMS.
Any goods returned should be in saleable condition.
These terms apply to your order. We may change our terms and conditions at any time, so please do not assume that the same terms will apply in the future.
None of these terms affect your legal rights and these are not diminished in any way. If any term is held to be invalid under any applicable statute or rule of law, that term is automatically omitted from the terms to minimum extent necessary to comply with the law and without affecting the validity or enforceability of the remainder.

Remittance Terms

We accept the following forms of payment:

- Visa and Mastercard credit cards (these incur a 2% surcharge)
